Happy Kids Foundation proudly shares the story of a 13-year-old girl who donated her hair to Madat Trust, where it will be used to make wigs for cancer patients who lose their hair during chemotherapy.

This initiative represents the foundation’s broader mission — to spread compassion, awareness, and emotional healing alongside medical treatment. The donation was coordinated through Happy Kids Foundation’s hair donation drive, an ongoing initiative that encourages individuals to support children and adults undergoing cancer treatment.

Under the expert medical leadership of Dr. Shraddha Chandak (Pediatric Haemato-Oncologist & Immunologist), Happy Kids Foundation not only provides medical and financial assistance to children with blood disorders, cancers, and immune deficiencies but also fosters empathy-driven community participation in healthcare causes.

Each strand of donated hair becomes a strand of hope — helping cancer patients regain confidence and positivity during their recovery journey.

The foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the young donor and her family for setting a remarkable example of kindness and awareness for others to follow.

Happy Kids Foundation has extended critical medical support to three children diagnosed with Primary Immune Deficiency (PID) by providing Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy completely free of cost at Kpond Children’s Superspeciality Hospital, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

PID is a rare, genetic disorder that weakens the immune system, leaving children vulnerable to recurrent infections and serious health complications. For children battling PID, IVIG infusion is a lifelong, monthly requirement that replenishes essential antibodies, helping the body fight infections effectively.

However, the therapy comes at a high cost — approximately ₹23,000 to ₹25,000 per dose, making consistent treatment financially overwhelming for families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Understanding the urgency of uninterrupted therapy, Happy Kids Foundation has stepped forward to ensure that financial hardship does not hinder access to essential care.

The treatment and clinical supervision for these children is being led by Dr. Shraddha Chandak, MBBS, DCH, DNB, FIAP — a renowned Pediatric Haemato-Oncologist & Immunologist, whose expertise in immune disorders and pediatric blood conditions has been instrumental in accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and long-term care.

Doctors highlight that missing scheduled IVIG doses can lead to repeated episodes of pneumonia, persistent fever, chronic infections, sepsis, and frequent hospitalizations — conditions that can severely impact a child’s development and quality of life.

The families benefitting from this initiative come from low-income households with limited access to specialized pediatric care. Since receiving the treatment, all three children have shown a reduction in recurrent infections, improved health stability, and fewer hospital visits.

Speaking about the initiative, a spokesperson from Happy Kids Foundation said,
“Early diagnosis and timely intervention can transform the lives of children with immune deficiencies. Our mission is to ensure that lifesaving treatment reaches every child in need, regardless of financial barriers.”

The initiative not only focuses on treatment but also emphasizes awareness, early diagnosis, follow-up support, and long-term health monitoring for children with rare immune disorders.

Happy Kids Foundation is currently supporting the treatment of children suffering from rare Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders (PIDs) through Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy. IVIG is a life-saving treatment that provides children with essential antibodies to fight recurring and severe infections caused by a weak immune system.

At present, four young patients with Immunodeficiency are receiving IVIG therapy at Happy Kids Foundation. Among these, two children are diagnosed with Agammaglobulinemia, a condition where the body fails to produce antibodies on its own. These children require regular monthly IVIG infusions to maintain immunity and protect against life-threatening infections.

The cost of one IVIG injection is around ₹23,000 per child per month, making it a significant financial burden for underprivileged families. For many parents in rural and semi-urban Marathwada, such expenses are nearly impossible to manage without external support. By providing access to IVIG treatment, Happy Kids Foundation is helping ensure that children suffering from immunodeficiency disorders are not deprived of essential care due to financial limitations.

While the therapy does not cure conditions like Agammaglobulinemia, it plays a vital role in improving quality of life, preventing recurrent infections, and reducing hospitalizations. IVIG treatment, combined with specialist pediatric immunology care, counseling, and long-term monitoring, gives these children a chance to live healthier and more active lives.

Happy Kids Foundation continues to work towards its mission of making pediatric cancer, hematology, immunology, and orthopedic care accessible to underprivileged children. By offering treatment assistance, financial support, and rehabilitation services, the foundation ensures that families in need do not have to travel to distant metro cities like Mumbai or Pune to access advanced pediatric care.
